The small market town of le Beausset and the
sea are only 1 and 6 miles away respectively. Numerous attractions include an
adjacent tennis court, golf at the fabulous www.fregate.dolce.com, Aqualand, OK Corral,
riding in the mountains, scuba diving in the sea, and the magic of Arles,
Nimes, Avignon and Aix en Provence (with its wonderful festival) not far
away.
Regional specialities including delicious Bandol wine, an amazing
array of cheese, local fish, and seasonal fruit and vegetables straight from
the producer. Feast on local seabass, ripe apricots and white peaches, or later
in the year enjoy Muscat grapes, green figs and wild boar ham.
A crossing of lay-lines by the Cabanon is reputed to encourage sweet
dreams. One lay-line then goes up into the nearby mountains and passes
through the major pilgrimage destination of the Grotto of St Mary
Magdalene, which a makes delightful and impressive excursion.
